Twenty-two seats is not a lot of seats. It's the kind of number that suggests someone is optimizing for something other than volume, and in this case that something is a bid to make Big Slick the first two-Michelin-star restaurant in Texas.
The boutique steakhouse and bar opened in late August on East 6th Street, run by husband-and-wife chefs Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee, who already have Michelin stars attached to their names via Pasta Bar and Sushi by Scratch Restaurants, both also in Austin. Big Slick's menu is described as chef-driven and fire-cooked, per the restaurant's own release.
No pricing, reservation link, or exact address was included in the announcement, so the how-to-go details are still TBD. Ambition, at least, is not in short supply.
