The Big Picture
Life feels like a permanent construction zone if you drive I-35; CAMPO just launched a carpool program meant to make that commute slightly less tragic. The new initiative, called We Ride I-35, is offered through CAMPO’s regional Transportation Demand Management program and aims to connect commuters traveling between Austin, Buda and Kyle.
What Changed
CAMPO announced Wednesday that it’s partnering with CTXGO to match commuters based on routes and schedules. Users can opt to drive, ride as a passenger, or alternate between the two, and CAMPO will handle the matching process once people sign up. That shifts the burden of finding reliable carpool partners from you to an algorithm and a regional agency.
What's Next
Interested commuters enroll by completing an online interest form that collects schedules, destinations, preferred meeting spots and driving preferences. Matched carpoolers arrange their own meeting locations and times; participants also get access to CTXGO’s Guaranteed Ride Home for eligible carpoolers and can earn up to $5 per day (maximum $150) through CTXGO Commute Rewards for logging carpool trips.
