Join us in standing with LA! Many playfully call Austin a “mini LA” for good reason. Countless Austin residents moved here from California, and many of us have friends, family, and deep connections there. We share the same creative energy, entrepreneurial spirit, and love for community. Many of us have roots in Los Angeles or know someone personally affected by the devastating wildfires. Friends, family, and loved ones have been forced to evacuate, losing their homes, businesses, and communities. It’s heartbreaking—and it hits close to home for many of us here. Given the extensive destruction, the rebuilding process is expected to be lengthy and costly, with cleanup operations alone anticipated to take months if not years and cost over $50 billion. What’s happening there is absolutely devastating—and this is our chance to step up and help. Join us this Sunday, January 19th at Mayfair for a powerful fundraiser supporting CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort). CORE's vital work provides immediate relief and long-term recovery support to disaster-affected communities. Their proven track record in California's fire-affected areas makes them the ideal organization to support during this crisis. About CORE: CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a global crisis response organization dedicated to empowering communities in need. With their headquarters in Los Angeles, CORE was among the first to respond to the devastating wildfires that erupted across LA in January 2025. They are providing immediate relief by distributing hygiene kits with N95 masks to evacuees and unhoused individuals, supplying shelters with WiFi and charging stations, and coordinating with local agencies to deliver critical support.
