The Big Picture
Leander has a new place to burn off restless kids and keep cleats from clogging Austin traffic: Austin Futsal League opened a facility near the Bryson neighborhood and is enrolling youth for camps, leagues and a kick-off tournament starting in December. The move brings the league’s indoor programs — which include clinics, pickup and referee training — into the northern suburbs after the organization previously operated in Wells Branch.
What Changed
The league relocated from Wells Branch and opened the Leander site in mid-October. The new indoor facility contains two full-size futsal courts with about 10,000 square feet of playable space, a weight training area and a second-floor mezzanine for viewers. Programs now available at this location are open to girls and boys, with leagues accepting students in third grade and up and camps geared toward elementary and middle-school players.
What's Next
Registration is open for the kick-off tournament, league play and a camp that runs Dec. 28–30; programs begin at various times throughout December. The address is 401 S. Chitalpa St., Unit 250, Leander. For registration and program details, visit the league’s site at https://www.austinfutsalleague.com/ — yes, this is the part where you click the link and actually sign them up instead of promising to next week.
