The Big Picture

Nobody's Business, a walk-up kitchen from chef Philip Speer and Via 313 co-founder Brandon Hunt, opened inside Lavaca Street Bar downtown on Sept. 12. The menu leans into what the team calls "business casual bar fare," with sandwiches, starters and larger plates available through an online ordering page.

This matters now because the spot replaced Turf N' Surf, which shuttered in July, and it puts two recognizable local names into a 21+ bar setting in the heart of downtown Austin.

What Changed

The space at 407 Lavaca St. that previously housed Turf N' Surf is now operating as Nobody's Business. The new concept is a walk-up kitchen rather than a full-service restaurant, and it publishes hours and menu items on its Instagram and ordering page.

The menu items the source lists include blue corn hush puppies and nachos as starters; Nobody's Cheeseburger and a fish sandwich priced at $15–$16 as sandwiches; and larger plates like sticky baby back ribs and a chilled noodle bowl. The venue remains a 21+ establishment because it operates inside Lavaca Street Bar.
