The Big Picture

No membership, no fight-gym intimidation — just a waiver and a willingness to try. Pressure Gym is rolling out Pressure Boxing Club, a free monthly series that starts September 26 at 8:30 am at Padel39, 4716 E. 5th St. Organizers pitched the club as an entry point for people curious about boxing who don’t want the usual ring-side pressure: the format is meant to be welcoming, social and fun while still teaching real training basics.

Sessions mix boxing fundamentals with conditioning work; each class sets up three workout stations that combine skill drills with high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and plyometrics chosen to develop boxing fitness. The press release explicitly likens the new club to run club — a group experience that’s part social, part workout — and Pressure Gym is billing it as something you bring friends to, not just a place to get hit by a trainer’s intensity.

What Changed

Pressure Gym is shifting part of its outreach from paid classes to a free, monthly community event. The first session — expected to draw 50 to 100 people — runs 8:30-10 am and asks attendees to arrive early. Rather than a single trainer-led class, the club uses a station format to introduce newcomers to core boxing skills and conditioning in a less intimidating group setting.

The gym also expanded partner involvement for the launch. Three attendees at the inaugural session will win giveaways: gloves and hand wraps from Poztev Martial Arts, 21 meals from My Fit Foods, a blood panel from GameDay Men’s Health, and a month of peptides pending consultation. Other sponsors bringing merch and support include C4 Energy and SweatPals, alongside the giveaway partners.

Another tangible shift is a formal partnership with the Texas Boxing Club at the University of Texas. Pressure Gym says it will lend space and training support to the UT club, which the release frames as a way to boost the club’s campus profile and seed a campus contingent at monthly sessions.

What's Next

The kickoff session is set for September 26 at 8:30 am and will run until 10 am; attendees must complete registration and a waiver in advance. Organizers expect the series to continue monthly with the same three-station structure and sponsor support. Pressure Gym will continue offering its paid boxing and kickboxing classes for beginners through professional fighters, while using Pressure Boxing Club to funnel newcomers — especially women and students — into a low-barrier first experience.
