The Big Picture

Life keeps trying to archive us into playlists nobody remembers; Dave Fest 7 is trying the opposite. Kick Butt Coffee announced on Instagram that Dave Fest 7 will take over the venue Friday and Saturday, December 11–12, celebrating original Austin music and supporting longtime music archivist Dave Prewitt and CapZeyeZ.

What Changed

The announcement turns Kick Butt Coffee into a two-night benefit platform for local acts and archival work rather than a routine coffee-shop gig. The Instagram post lists featured performers including Chris Toast & the Jerks, Zero Percent, Renée Woodward, Eric Hisaw, Differentials, and Old Phukkerz, among others, framing the weekend as both a showcase and a fundraiser for the person who’s preserved so many local live moments.

What's Next

Save the dates: Friday and Saturday, December 11–12, 2026, at Kick Butt Coffee, 5775 Airport Blvd., Suite 725. The post states admission is $10, the venue offers a full bar, coffee and food, and there is lots of free parking. The Instagram announcement did not provide set times or a ticket link; follow Kick Butt Coffee's Instagram post at https://www.instagram.com/reel/DfGQUYRR0D7/ for updates and any ticketing information.

Bring a friend and a memory for Dave; the music archivist has kept Austin’s noise from disappearing and this is one of the few public chances to thank him in person.
