The Big Picture

A citywide campaign called HOMEcoming is running through November with participating Austin venues donating portions of sales, ticket proceeds, or running fundraising promos to support HOME (Housing Opportunities for Musicians & Entertainers). The initiative is pitched as both a celebration of the musicians who helped build Austin's live-music reputation and a fundraising drive to ensure those artists have access to housing, care, and community support.

This is explicitly a community-driven set of partnerships: venues, local businesses and foundations are invited to sponsor or participate to raise awareness and money for HOME's year-round services.

What Changed

HOMEcoming organizes existing live-music activity into a monthlong, coordinated fundraiser rather than isolated benefit nights. Instead of a single benefit or one-off shows, participating venues will each contribute in whatever way they can — a percentage of sales, a cut of ticket sales, or specialty promotions — to direct support for aging musicians through HOME's programs.

The campaign reframes routine November gigs as potential fundraising opportunities and awareness moments for housing and care issues facing long-time performers in Austin.

What's Next

HOMEcoming runs throughout November. For the full list of participating venues, specific events, and details on how each venue is contributing, visit HOME Austin's HOMEcoming page at https://homeaustin.org/homecoming/.

If you want to help but need a plan: go to one of the listed shows, tip a musician, buy a ticket from a participating event, or look into sponsorship options linked on HOME's site — it all funnels back to housing and care for aging local artists.
